1. Scope & Applicability

Oyegen is a software product operated by Oyelabs Technologies Pvt. Ltd. (“Oyelabs”).

This Law Enforcement Request Policy describes how Oyegen reviews, evaluates, and responds to requests for user information received from law enforcement agencies, government authorities, or regulatory bodies.

This policy applies exclusively to official law enforcement or government requests and does not apply to private or civil requests.

This Law Enforcement Request Policy supplements Oyelabs’ Privacy Policy and End User License Agreement (EULA) and is intended specifically to govern Oyegen’s handling of law enforcement and government data requests. In the event of any conflict, this policy and applicable law shall control.

2. Designated Law Enforcement Contact

All law enforcement and government requests must be submitted to the following designated point of contact:

Contact details are provided directly to verified authorities upon request.
Oyegen does not accept law enforcement requests through customer support, sales, or general inquiry channels.

3. Review of Legality & Authorization

3.1 Request Verification Process

Oyegen reviews all law enforcement and government requests using a standardized internal process, which includes:

  1. Authority Verification
    Confirmation that the requesting party is a legitimate and authorized law enforcement or government authority. 
  2. Legal Sufficiency Review
    Verification that the request is supported by valid legal process, such as a court order, warrant, or statutory notice, issued under applicable law. 
  3. Scope & Specificity Review
    Assessment of whether the request is narrowly scoped, clearly identifies the relevant account(s), and is proportionate to its stated legal purpose. 
  4. Internal Authorization
    Review and approval by Oyelabs’ Legal & Compliance function prior to any disclosure of information. 

3.2 Valid Request Requirements

A request is considered valid only if it:

  • Is issued by an authorized law enforcement or government authority 
  • Is submitted through an official government channel or domain 
  • Clearly states the legal basis and scope of the request 
  • Complies with applicable laws and regulations 

Oyegen does not respond to informal, verbal, or incomplete requests.

4. Challenging or Rejecting Requests

Oyegen may challenge, narrow, or reject requests that:

  • Lack valid legal authorization 
  • Are overly broad, vague, or disproportionate 
  • Conflict with applicable privacy or data protection laws 

Decisions to challenge or contest a request are reviewed and approved by Oyelabs’ Legal & Compliance function and, where required, senior management.

5. Data Minimization & Disclosure Practices

5.1 Data Minimization

Oyegen follows a strict data minimization approach and discloses only the specific data expressly required by applicable law.

Bulk, proactive, or voluntary data sharing is not permitted.

5.2 Disclosure Controls

Prior to disclosure:

  • Requests are limited to the identified user or account(s) 
  • Access to data is restricted to authorized personnel only 
  • Only legally required data fields are extracted and disclosed 

6. Recordkeeping & Audit Logging

6.1 Law Enforcement Request Log

Oyegen maintains a secure internal log of all law enforcement and government requests with restricted access.

6.2 Logged Information

The log may include:

  • Date of request 
  • Requesting authority 
  • Legal basis cited 
  • Categories of data requested 
  • Action taken (approved, rejected, or challenged) 
  • Date of response 

6.3 Retention

Records related to law enforcement and government requests are retained as required by applicable law and internal compliance obligations.

7. User Notification

Where legally permitted, Oyegen may notify affected users of requests for their information.

User notification may be delayed or withheld when:

  • Prohibited by law 
  • Subject to a valid confidentiality or non-disclosure requirement 
  • Notification could compromise an ongoing or lawful investigation

This policy may be updated periodically to reflect changes in legal, regulatory, or operational requirements. Updates become effective upon publication.
